WHO IS KAT Bailess?

I'm Kat Bailess! Born and raised in Mississippi, I still love fried catfish, shrimp n' grits, greens and black-eyed peas. And I still remember sitting on my bed, upstairs in my room, looking out at the Magnolia trees and dreaming about the day I would go to Hollywood to pursue my dream... the dream to act, dance, sing and make a living doing what I have loved since I was old enough to walk, entertain!

Now I am loving the life in California. I got here via New York City where I went to college and believe me, I learned a lot in the Big Apple. I learned it is cheaper to walk than to take a taxi, you don't order coffee with cream, you just say light, and that the Subway is the only way to travel. I also learned that Broadway was a good way to get my feet wet, so I spent a lot of time auditioning, going to call backs and being a part of live theatre. I was also fortunate enough to get a few commercials, television and movie spots, and even do a bit of modeling. Busy was what I was, and loving every minute of it.

After arriving in LA, it didn't take too long for me to add a few screen credits in film and television to my resume. I had a blast in Bring It On Again, and when I got to play the "bad girl" in From Justin to Kelly, I was elated! I have had recurring roles on One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls, and also had an opportunity to recur on The Loop, Sordid Lives the Series and NCIS.

Now I am so excited to have two movies that just came out on DVD, Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale and Below the Beltway. I hope you check them out! But beware, you might not recognize me at first when you see me in Elle, I get to play a redhead, how cool is that?

I am also enjoying hosting a new radio show, After BuzzTV. Y'all just have to check it out at http://www.ustream.tv/afterbuzztv. I am having a blast commenting on American Idol, Glee and other live events like the Oscars and Grammy's. My good friend Ashanti and I will give you the latest buzz on the hottest shows on television. I even write and perform a new song on the Idol show every week.
